Man claims TV fell on his foot at Walmart

GRETNA – A man is seeking damages, claiming a TV fell on his foot in a Walmart store in Harvey.

Channing Mackey filed a suit Dec. 19 against Walmart Stores Inc. and Walmart Louisiana LLC, doing business as Walmart No. 2706, in the 24th Judicial District Court alleging negligence.

According to the claim, the plaintiff is seeking damages for an incident that took place Dec. 20, 2016. The suit states that while the plaintiff was at the Walmart at 1501 Manhattan Blvd., he was caused injury when a TV fell from a display and struck the plaintiff's leg. 

The defendant is accused of negligence.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by Renee L. Swanson of Renee Swanson LLC in Gretna.

The case has been assigned to Division M Judge Henry Sullivan Jr.
