GRETNA – A man claims that he slipped and fell on ice at a car wash

Dondrell Cage filed a suit Dec. 29 against Ronald R. Keller and Jane K. Keller, individually and doing business as Tropical Car Wash and/or Tropical Car Wash, a partnership and or limited liability company, in the 24th Judicial District Court alleging negligence.

According to the claim, the plaintiff is seeking damages for an incident that took place on Jan. 7, 2017. The suit states that the plaintiff went to the defendants' address at 4220 Williams Blvd. in Metairie to have his car washed. The suit states that one of the hoses was leaking water at the premises and that cold temperatures had caused the water to freeze and the plaintiff to slip and fall on the ground, causing injuries.

The defendant is accused of negligence through failing to warn of the danger and failing to clear the ice.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by Mark W. Smith of Mark W. Smith & Associates PLC in Metairie.

The case has been assigned to Division N Judge Stephen Enright.
