GRETNA — A woman claims that an air conditioning unit caused mold to grow in her home.

Mary McCarthur St. Paul filed a suit on Jan. 4 against Asprion's Air Conditioning Inc. in the 24th Judicial District Court alleging negligence.

According to the claim, the plaintiff had an air conditioner installed in her condo on Jan. 17, 2017. In September 2017, the plaintiff noticed that there was mold growing on her furniture and cabinets. She alleges it was due to the improper installation that the defendant had done.

The defendant is accused of negligence.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by Carolyn B. Hennesy of Hennesy Law LLC in New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division D Judge Scott U. Schlegel.
