Woman claims physician did not properly diagnose condition

GRETNA –A woman claims that she was not diagnosed in a timely manner.

Cynthia Dehghanpir and Reza Dehghanpir filed a suit January 10 against Amy Truitt M.D. in the 24th Judicial District Court alleging negligence and medical malpractice.

According to the claim, the plaintiff is seeking damages for an incident which took place beginning in January 2014. The suit states that the defendant began experiencing unusual post-menopausal symptoms and reached out to the defendant's office. The defendant prescribed the plaintiff with medication for a "common women's issue" but the treatment failed to help the plaintiff. In February 2014, the plaintiff contacted the defendant, but was never given the degree of aid that she needed. Finally, the plaintiff sought out help at the East Jefferson General Hospital and it was there that she was experienced complications which caused serious bleeding for the plaintiff. The plaintiff was finally diagnosed with cancer and has since undergone chemotherapy. The plaintiff was caused serious complications and pain and suffering, due to the fact that she was not diagnosed in a timely manner.  

The defendant is accused of negligence and medical malpractice.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by Graham Bosworth of the Law Office of Graham Bosworth LLC in New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division D Judge Scott U. Schlegel.

The 24th Judicial District Court Case number 779443.
