Father seeks damages after child is exposed to lead

NEW ORLEANS – A father claims that his child developed lead in his blood due to negligence.

Yon Davis, on behalf of his minor child, filed a lawsuit Jan. 2 against Oletha S. Broussard, Wallace Broussard and Sadie Signal in Orleans Parish Civil District Court.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff is seeking damages for an incident that was realized on Jan. 2, 2017. The plaintiff claims the defendants failed to disclose the details of the living situation in which his minor child would be exposed to and it was discovered on the date aforementioned that the child had developed high levels of lead in his blood.

The defendant is accused of negligence and failing to disclose important details such as the danger of the living condition.

The plaintiff seeks all reasonable damages, court costs, attorney fees and all appropriate relief. The plaintiff is represented by attorney Andrew W. Horstmyer.

The case has been assigned to Division G Judge Robin Giarrusso.

The Orleans Parish Civil District Court Case No. is 2018-3.
