Owners claim boat was not properly repaired

NEW ORLEANS – Two individuals claim that their boat was not fixed as it ought to have been.

Robert T. Garrity Jr. and A.D. Geoghegan filed a lawsuit Jan. 9 against Seabrook Marine LLC in Orleans Parish Civil District Court alleging breach of contract.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff is seeking damages for an incident that took place in 2017. The suit states the plaintiffs were paying for the repairs to a 1981 double cabin yacht trawler. The defendant however, failed to perform the duties agreed upon in a timely fashion. They were also billed an additional $12,000 for the work that ought to have been completed in the first place.

The defendant is accused of breach of contract.

The plaintiff seeks all reasonable damages, court costs, attorney fees and all appropriate relief. The plaintiff is represented by attorney Patrick D. DeRouen of DeRouen Law Firm in New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division I Judge Piper D. Griffin.

The Orleans Parish Civil District Court Case No. is 2018-221.
