Tenant accused of abandoning lease and skipping out on amount owed

NEW ORLEANS – A property manager claims that a tenant vacated premises without paying.

3160 Dauphine St LLC filed a lawsuit on Jan. 22 against Justus Jagger in Orleans Parish Civil District Court alleging breach of contract.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff signed a 10-year lease agreement with the defendant in August 2013. The defendant allegedly decided to cancel the lease early and failed to pay the plaintiff what they owed in the amount of $128,589.50.

The defendant is accused of breach of contract.

The plaintiff seeks all reasonable damages, court costs, attorney fees and all appropriate relief. The plaintiff is represented by attorney Michael A. Mahone Jr. of The Mahone Law Firm LLC in New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division C Judge Sidney H. Cates IV.

Orleans Parish Civil District Court case number 18-567.
