Homeowner says Lloyd's of London hasn't paid for tornado damage

NEW ORLEANS – A property owner is seeking reimbursement for damages from a tornado.

Angela Gamell filed a lawsuit on Jan.  24 against Underwriters at Lloyd's London in Orleans Parish Civil District Court alleging breach of contract.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff is seeking damages for an incident that took place on Feb. 7, 2017 when a tornado damaged the plaintiff's home. The suit states that the defendant has failed to properly reimburse the plaintiff, who is a policyholder, for the damages caused by the tornado.

The defendant is accused of breach of contract.

The plaintiff seeks all reasonable damages, court costs, attorney fees and all appropriate relief. The plaintiff is represented by attorney Brian D. Page of Robichaux Law Firm LLC in New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division B Judge Rachael Johnson.
