Man claims he tripped and fell on manhole cover at Shell station

NEW ORLEANS – A man claims that he was caused to trip and fall on a manhole cover.

Edward Mickey filed a lawsuit on Jan. 23 against Gentilly Service Inc., Herman Scieneaux., Ottallah Inc., Philip T. La Valle, ABC Insurance Company, DEF Insurance Company and XYZ Insurance Company in Orleans Parish Civil District Court alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff is seeking damages for an incident that took place on March 7, 2017. The suit states that the plaintiff was stopping for gas at the Shell station on 2035 Gentilly Blvd. when he was caused to fall when his foot was caught on the cover of a manhole. The station is owned by Scieneaux via Gentilly Service and La Valle. 

The defendants are accused of negligence.

The plaintiff seeks all reasonable damages, court costs, attorney fees and all appropriate relief. The plaintiff is represented by attorney Erin A. Fisher in Metairie.

The case has been assigned to Division G Judge Robin M. Giarusso.
