Woman claims she was injured in fall at Brothers Food Mart

GRETNA – A woman and her husband are seeking damages for an alleged slip and fall in a local grocery store.

Suzanne Rieskind and her husband Normand Rieskind Sr. filed a suit on Jan. 26 against Brothers Belle Chasse LLC, doing business as Brothers Food Mart No. 13, in the 24th Judicial District Court alleging negligence.

According to the claim, the plaintiffs are  seeking damages for an incident that took place on Oct. 21. 2017. The suit states that Suzanne Rieskind was at the Brothers store at 1944 Belle Chasse Highway when she was caused to slip and fall on a puddle of water that was leaking from a beer cooler.

The defendant is accused of negligence through failing to warn of the danger or clean up the mess.

The plaintiffs are seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. They are represented by Stephen P. Bruno in New Orleans of Bruno & Bruno LLP.

The case has been assigned to Division E Judge John J. Molaison Jr.

The 24th Judicial District Court case number 780009.
