Woman claims she was caused to slip and fall in assisted living foundation

GRETNA – A woman claims she slipped and fell in an assisted living home after the staff failed to monitor her.

Betsy Nelson filed a suit Feb. 1 against River Oaks Inc. in the 24th Judicial District Court alleging negligence.

According to the claim, the plaintiff is seeking damages, claiming that the defendant was negligent through failing to care for the plaintiff who needed help showering. The plaintiff was caused to slip and fall because the defendant failed to exercise the proper care needed by the plaintiff.

The defendant is accused of negligence.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by Scott Bickford of Martzell, BIckford & Centola in New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division E Judge John Molaison Jr.
