NEW ORLEANS – A woman claims she slipped and fell in a Family Dollar Store.
Maureen Brown filed a lawsuit Feb. 5 against Family Dollar Stores of Louisiana Inc., Fidelity Investment Holdings LLC, and ABC Insurance Co. and DEF Insurance Co. in Orleans Parish Civil District Court alleging negligence.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff is seeking damages claiming that she shopping on the defendant's property at 3600 General Degaulle Drive, New Orleans on Feb. 6, 2017 when the incident took place. The plaintiff was caused to slip and fall in a puddle of water that was dripping from a leaking ceiling.
The defendant is accused of negligence.
The plaintiff seeks all reasonable damages, court costs, attorney fees and all appropriate relief. The plaintiff is represented by attorney Arthur Dupré of Leef, Gibbs, Sullivan & Dupré in Metairie.
The case has been assigned to Division G Judge Robin Giarrusso.
