Woman claims she tripped and fell in Treasure Chest Casino viewing area

GRETNA — A woman claims that she tripped and fell on a carpet in a Mardi Gras viewing area set up by a local casino. 

Mary Ann Mills filed a suit on Feb. 16 against Treasure Chest Casino LLC and Buisson Entertainment LLC in the 24th Judicial District Court alleging negligence.

According to the claim, the plaintiff is seeking damages for an incident that took place on Feb. 18, 2017 when the plaintiff was a guest in the Treasure Chest viewing area.  The plaintiff allegedly was caused to trip and fall on a piece of carpet, which was on the ground in an uneven manner.

The defendant is accused of negligence.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by Brian P. Marcelle of Huber, Slack, Thomas & Marcelle LLP in New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division A Judge Raymond S. Steib Jr.
