Woman claims unmaintained bush caused her to fall off of bike

GRETNA – A woman is seeking damages, claiming she was caused to fall from a bike due to a bush in her way.

Karen Prieto filed a suit Feb. 21 against Entergy Services Inc., Ramelli Group LLC, Sunrise Community Club, and the Parish of Jefferson Parkways Department in the 24th Judicial District Court alleging negligence.

According to the claim, the plaintiff is seeking damages, claiming that she was riding her bike on July 20, 2017 when she rode past the Sunrise Community Club's property. The plaintiff was caused to fall from her bike because a bush the defendant failed to maintain was blocking the sidewalk.

The defendant is accused of negligence.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by Reid Uzee of Gennusa, Piacun & Ruli in Metairie.

The case has been assigned to Division H Judge Glenn Ansardi.
