Woman claims she slipped and fell in a Walmart store

NEW ORLEANS – A woman is seeking damages for a slip and fall in a Walmart.

Gwendolyn Mitchell filed a lawsuit March 2 against Walmart Stores Inc. and ABC Insurance Co. in Orleans Parish Civil District Court alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff is seeking damages the plaintiff is seeking damages for an incident that took place on April 2, 2017. The plaintiff was at a Walmart when she was caused to slip and fall on a liquid which had been left on the ground.

The defendant is accused of negligence.

The plaintiff seeks all reasonable damages, court costs, attorney fees and all appropriate relief. The plaintiff is represented by attorney Shelley Hammond Provosty of the Hammond Law Firm LLC in New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division E Judge Clare Jupiter.

The Orleans Parish Civil District Court Case No. is 2018-2070.
