Man seeks damages, claiming restaurant's bench broke under him

NEW ORLEANS – A man claims that he was caused to fall when a bench broke under him.

Bashar Alsalti filed a lawsuit March 3 against Raising Cane's Restaurants LLC and Liberty Mutual Insurance Co. in Orleans Parish Civil District Court alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff is seeking damages for an incident that took place on March 16, 2017 when the plaintiff was caused to fall because the bench he was sitting on broke.

The defendant is accused of negligence.

The plaintiff seeks all reasonable damages, court costs, attorney fees and all appropriate relief. The plaintiff is represented by attorney Edward Womac Jr. of the Law Offices of Edward J. Womac & Associates in New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division I Judge Piper Griffin.

The Orleans Parish Civil District Court Case No. is 2018-2483.
