Woman says doctors' negligence led to triple amputation

GRETNA – A woman had to have a triple amputation following the alleged negligence of health professionals.

Cynthia Glaskox Boudreaux filed a suit April 12 against Ochsner Clinic LLC and Ochsner Clinic Foundation in the 24th Judicial District Court alleging negligence and breach in the standard of care.

According to the claim, the plaintiff is seeking damages for an incident that took place when she was admitted to the defendants' clinic in December 2013 and was discharged following a colorectal surgery in January 2014. The suit states the plaintiff experienced complications and became septic. The suit states the plaintiff was found to have contracted gangrene due to the defendant's negligence and had to have a triple amputation.

The defendant is accused of negligence and breach in the standard of care.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by Thomas Calvert of Metairie.

The case has been assigned to Division D Judge Scott Schlegel.
