Louisiana State University Medical Center claims that a student owes it more than $700

NEW ORLEANS – A university is seeking more than $700 from a student.

The Louisiana State University Board of Supervisors through Louisiana State University Medical Center filed a lawsuit on April 6 against Deidre Stokes Cloud in Orleans Parish Civil District Court, alleging an open account.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff is seeking damages for an open account, claiming that the defendant has failed to pay off the balance of $765 plus 25 percent interest.

The plaintiff seeks all reasonable damages, court costs, attorney's fees and appropriate relief. The plaintiff is represented by attorney Scott L. Smith Jr. of the Louisiana Department of Justice in Baton Rouge.

The case has been assigned to Division M Judge Paulette R. Irons.
