American Express claims that individual and business owe it $4,000 in credit card debt

NEW ORLEANS — American Express claims that it is owed more than $4,000.

American Express National Bank filed a lawsuit on April 10 in Orleans Parish Civil District Court against Ernest Smith and ES3 Elite Training LLC, alleging an open account.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff is seeking damages for an open account in the balance of $4,873.12 plus interest, claiming that the defendant failed to pay off the balance due.

The plaintiff seeks all reasonable damages, court costs, attorney's fees and appropriate relief. The plaintiff is represented by attorney Gilbert G. Gonzalez Jr. of the DeGrasse Law Firm PC in Baton Rouge.

The case has been assigned to Division L Judge Kern A. Reese.
