Cox Communications Inc. and Connect One Cabling LLC accused of negligence after ladder allegedly fell on man's head

GRETNA — A man claims that he suffered damages after a ladder struck him on the head.

Melvin H. Smith Jr. filed a suit on April 23 in the 24th Judicial District Court against Amjad Fareoq, Cox Communications Inc., Connect One Cabling LLC and National Union Fire Insurance Company of Pittsburgh, alleging negligence.

According to the claim, the plaintiff is seeking damages for an incident that allegedly took place on May 1, 2017. He claims that he was injured when to a ladder on the defendants' property fell on his head.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney's fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by Robert J. Caluda of the Caluda Law Firm in Metairie.

The case has been assigned to Division C Judge June Berry Darensburg.

The 24th Judicial District Court case number 783025.
