Customer claims that fuel hose ruptured at Retif Oil & Fuel station, caused injuries

GRETNA – A man alleges he was injured while filling up his truck at a Jefferson Parish fuel station.

Teddy Blutcher filed a suit April 28 against Retif Oil & Fuel LLC and Zurich American Insurance Co. in the 24th Judicial District Court alleging negligence.

According to the claim, the plaintiff was at the defendant's service station on Stumpf Boulevard in Jefferson Parish on April 24, 2017. The suit states that the plaintiff was caused injury when the fuel hose ruptured while he was pumping diesel fuel for his truck and fuel struck his eyes, mouth and face. He alleges his vehicle was also damaged.

The plaintiff alleges the defendant failed to maintain the pump, fuel nozzle and/or hose in a safe condition.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by Scott W. McQuaig in Metairie.

The case has been assigned to Division E Judge John J. Molaison Jr.
