Macy's accused of harassment after it allegedly sent woman unwanted text messages

NEW ORLEANS — A woman claims that Macy's harassed her with text messages.

April Brinkman filed a lawsuit on May 7 in Orleans Parish Civil District Court against Macy's Retail Holdings Inc. d/b/a Macy's, alleging harassment.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff is seeking damages because the defendant allegedly sent her unwanted promotional text messages. The plaintiff claims that she received numerous unwanted text messages every week from the defendant and allegedly was not given the chance to stop receiving them.

The plaintiff seeks all reasonable damages, court costs, attorney's fees and appropriate relief. The plaintiff is represented by Roberto Luis Costales of Beaumont Costales LLC in New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division J Judge D. Nicole Sheppard.
