Uniform Apparel alleges insurance company improperly denied burglary damage claim

NEW ORLEANS – An apparel company claims that its insurance company improperly denied its claim for damages from a burglary.

Uniform Apparel LLC filed a lawsuit June 1 against Certain Underwrites at Lloyds London, also known as Lloyds of London, in Orleans Parish Civil District Court alleging breach of contract.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges its 1683 North Broad St., New Orleans property was burglarized, unlawfully entered and damaged June 1, 2017. It alleges its policy with the defendant was in full force and effect at the time and it filed a claim that the defendant denied.

The plaintiff alleges the defendant improperly denied the claim and failed to timely adjust and pay its claims.

The plaintiff seeks all reasonable damages, court costs, attorney fees and all appropriate relief. The plaintiff is represented by owner Michael Dorothy of Uniform Apparel LLC in New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division M Judge Paulette R. Irons.
