Woman claims workplace sexual harassment in lawsuit against Zulu Social Aid and Pleasure Club

NEW ORLEANS – A woman claims that she was sexually harassed by her employer.

Gemell Hulbert filed a lawsuit June 29 against Naaman Stewart, individually and officially, and Zulu Social Aid and Pleasure Club Inc. in Orleans Parish Civil District Court alleging sexual harassment.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff is seeking damages claiming that in May 2014, the plaintiff was hired by Zulu. The suit states that on June 27, 2015, the plaintiff was in the bathroom when the defendant entered and forced himself on her. The plaintiff claims she has continued to be harassed and assaulted by the defendant and claims she was fired because she reported the assault.

The defendant is accused of harassment and sexual harassment.

The plaintiff seeks all reasonable damages, court costs, attorney fees and all appropriate relief. The plaintiff is represented by attorney Lena Rachal in New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division E Judge Melvin Zeno.

The Orleans Parish Civil District Court Case No. is 18-6432.
