Woman claims she was injured in a Sam's Club

GRETNA – A woman is seeking damages after she says a carpet fell on her head in a Sam's Club.

Victoria Thi Ngo filed a suit Aug. 3 against Walmart Inc. in the 24th Judicial District Court alleging negligence.

According to the claim, the plaintiff is seeking damages for an incident that took place on June 17, 2017 when the plaintiff was at the Sam's Club at 3900 Airline Drive in Metairie. The suit states the plaintiff was caused injury when she was struck on the head by a carpet that became dislodged from a shelf and fell on her.

The defendant is accused of negligence through failing to ensure that the business was safe for customers.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by Brian Marcelle of Huber, Slack, Thomas and Marcelle LLP in New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division I Judge Nancy Miller.
