Chateau Golf and Country Club sued in alleged trip-and-fall accident

GRETNA – A guest at the Chateau Golf and Country Club is seeking damages, claiming she fell "violently to the ground" while walking to get a cup of coffee at the Kenner, Louisiana, club.

Patricia Kaen filed the lawsuit on Aug. 10 against James River Insurance Co. and Chateau Inc., doing business as Chateau Golf and Country Club, in the 24th Judicial District Court.

The plaintiff is alleging negligence for an incident that allegedly happened on Aug. 27, 2017, when the plaintiff tripped and fell on a "flooring level change" that she claims was not clearly marked.

The defendant is accused of negligence.The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by Colby F. Wench of The Wenck Firm LLC in Metairie.

The case has been assigned to Division D Judge Scott U. Schlegel.

The 24th Judicial District Court Case number 786546.
