City of Grand Isle named as defendant in slip and fall lawsuit

GRETNA – A woman claims that she slipped and fell due to negligence.

Brandy Barker filed a suit Aug. 20 against the City of Grand Isle in the 24th Judicial District Court alleging negligence.

According to the claim, the plaintiff is seeking damages for an incident that took place on April 13, 2018 when the plaintiff was at the defendant's property and was caused to slip and fall on water that had been left on the ground. The plaintiff suffered health complications and physical pain due to the defendant's negligence.

The defendant is accused of negligence.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by Kassie Lee Richbourg of Scott, Vicknair, Hair & Checki LLC in New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division A Judge Raymond Steib Jr.
