GRETNA –– A motorist struck by a police car prompts a lawsuit in the 24th Judicial District Court.

Vita Donnelly filed a complaint on Aug. 24 against One Beacon Insurance Company, the city of Gretna and Jace Pellegrin over the alleged incident.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff was driving on the lower Westbank Expressway when she was struck by the Pellegan, a police officer. The plaintiff suffered injuries, the complaint states. 

The defendant is accused of negligence.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. She is represented by Paul L. Carriere of Favret, Carrier, Cronvich LLC in New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division C Judge June Berry Darensburg.
