Mother says City of Westwego responsible for child's burns

GRETNA – A mother alleges that her child was burnt in a bathtub.

Taisha Bell, on behalf of her minor child, filed a complaint on Sept.12 in the 24th Judicial District Court against The Housing Authority of the City of Westwego and ABC Insurance Co.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff is seeking damages for an incident that took place on Sept. 16, 2017 when the plaintiff was bathing her minor child and the child was caused second-degree burns due to the temperature of the water.

The defendant is accused of negligence.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by Micahel Brandner Jr.

The case has been assigned to Division L Judge Donald Rowan Jr.
