Sam's Club in Harvey faces negligence lawsuit

GRETNA –– A Jefferson Parish resident accuses a Sam's Club employee of dropping a pallet jack on her foot.

Tyra Vanison filed a complaint on Sept. 20 in the 24th Judicial District Court against Sam's West Inc., alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff was injured as a pallet jack smashed into her foot. A nearby employee, who may have committed the act, laughed and walked away. The incident took place in October 2017 at the Sam's Club in Harvey.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by Michael D. Letourneau of The Chopin Law Firm LLC in New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division M Judge Henry G. Sullivan Jr.
