GRETNA – A woman is seeking more than $26,000, alleging she is entitled to a year's pay after termination.\
Amanda Escobar filed a complaint on Oct. 2 in the 24th Judicial District Court against Walmart Inc., dba Walmart Metairie Supercenter 989.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff is seeking damages for sums due, alleging the defendant has failed to pay off the balance due of $26,416 plus interest, after the plaintiff was injured at her workplace on March 23. The plaintiff was fired from her job after sustaining the injury and was not paid what she was entitled as reparation for her abrupt termination.
The defendant is accused of negligence and discrimination.
The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by Lloyd Frischhertz of Frischhertz, Poulliard, Frischhertz & Impastato LLC in New Orleans.
