GRETNA – A woman is seeking damages after she was injured at a Walmart.

Belinda Nagel filed a complaint on Oct. 2 in the 24th Judicial District Court against Walmart Stores Inc., dba Walmart Store 989.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff is seeking damages for an incident that took place on Oct. 2, 2017 when the plaintiff was in the Walmart located at 8912 Veterans Blvd. The suit states that the plaintiff was injured when the credit card machine at the checkout fell from its stand and struck the plaintiff.

The defendant is accused of negligence.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by Gerard Archer in Metairie.

The case has been assigned to Division N Judge Stephen Enright Jr.
