GRETNA – A mortgage company is seeking more than $140,000 in sums due.

Freedom Mortgage Corp. filed a complaint on Oct. 2 in the 24th Judicial District Court against James Brown.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff is seeking damages for sums due in the balance of $140,631.21 plus interest, alleging that the defendant has failed to pay off the sums due.

The defendant is accused of sums due on a mortgage.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by Rader Jackson of Jackson & McPherson LLC in New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division J Judge Scott Schlegel.

The 24th Judicial District Court Case No. is 788179.
