Mortgage company goes after alleged $260,000 debt

GRETNA –– A mortgage company accuses a homeowner of an outstanding debt.

Freedom Mortgage Corporation filed a complaint on Oct. 12 in the 24th Judicial District Court against Michael Guibet Carriere.

According to the complaint, the defendant failed to pay on an outstanding balance of $263,031.40, plus interest.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by Stacy G. Butler of Kizer, Hood and Morgan LLP in Baton Rouge.

The case has been assigned to Division P Judge Lee V. Faulkner Jr.
