Alleged mortgage debt prompts lawsuit

GRETNA –– A homeowner faces a lawsuit over a $160,000 alleged debt.

Freedom Mortgage Corporation filed a complaint on Oct. 12 in the 24th Judicial District Court against Donte D. Sewell. 

According to the complaint, the defendant failed to pay on an outstanding balance of $161,780.04, plus interest.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by Stacy G. Butler of Kizer, Hood and Morgan LLP in Baton Rouge.

The case has been assigned to Division H Judge Glenn B. Ansardi.
