Woman seeks damages from parish following fall in a pothole

GRETNA – A woman is seeking damages after she fell in a pothole.

Nina Theard filed a complaint on Oct. 19 in the 24th Judicial District Court against Parish of Jefferson and Parish of Jefferson, Department of Streets.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff is seeking damages for an incident that took place on Oct. 21, 2017, when the plaintiff was walking on Manhattan Boulevard and was caused to step into a pothole and fall, resulting in injuries, as she crossed Lapalco Boulevard.

The defendant is accused of negligence.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by Randall Meyer in New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division N Judge Stephen Enright Jr.
