American Cruise Lines employee says she was injured on a ship

NEW ORLEANS – A woman is seeking damages for an injury on a cruise ship.

Yvette Perkins filed a complaint on Nov. 7 in Orleans Parish Civil District Court against American Cruise Lines Inc.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff is seeking damages for an incident that took place on March 7 when the plaintiff was employed by the defendant. The suit that the plaintiff was crossing the gangway to the dock when the gangway shifted and the plaintiff was caused to be injured physically.

The defendant is accused of negligence and failing to take the necessary precautions to avoid such damages.

The plaintiff seeks all reasonable damages, court costs, attorney fees and all appropriate relief. The plaintiff is represented by attorney A. Spencer Gulden of Morris Bart LLC in New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division M Judge Paulette Irons.

The Orleans Parish Civil District Court Case No. is 2018-11154.
