Xavier University sues for more than $8,000

GRETNA – Xavier University of Louisiana filed a complaint on Nov. 2 in the 24th Judicial District Court against Deja McLaurin alleging a past-due bill of more than $8,000.

The plaintiff is seeking damages for $8,849.84 plus interest. The suit states that the defendant has failed to pay off the balance owed for the services delivered by the plaintiff. Despite amicable demand, the defendant has failed to pay off the balance owed, according to court documents.

The defendant is accused of sums due on an open account.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by Joseph E. Fick of Newman, Mathis, Brady & Spedale in Metairie.

The case has been assigned to Division H Judge Glenn B. Ansardi.
