Delgado Community College seeks over $800 on open account, alleging that a student was negligent in paying the fees associated with attending

NEW ORLEANS – A community college is seeking more than $800 in sums due.

Louisiana Community and Technical College System through Delgado Community College filed a complaint on Nov. 26 in Orleans Parish Civil District Court against Shaquilla N. Thomas.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff is seeking damages for sums due on an open account. The suit states the defendant has failed to pay off the balance due of $833.17 plus interest of 33.33 percent. Despite amicable demand, the plaintiff claims it is still seeking payment from the defendant.

The defendant is accused of sums due on an open account.

The plaintiff seeks all reasonable damages, court costs, attorney fees and all appropriate relief. The plaintiff is represented by Jessie Cannon of the Louisiana Department of Justice in Baton Rouge.

The case has been assigned to Division B Judge Rachael Johnson.

The Orleans Parish Civil District Court Case No. is 18-11808.
