Man seeks damages following auto accident on West Napoleon Avenue

GRETNA – A man is seeking damages for a car accident in which he alleges he was injured.

Chad Desmare filed a complaint on Oct. 30 in the 24th Judicial District Court against State Farm Mutual Automobile Insurance Co. and Marie Sclafini.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff is seeking damages for an incident that took place on Dec. 19, 2017 when the plaintiff was a guest in the vehicle owned and operated by a friend. The suit states the plaintiff was injured when the car he was in was struck by the defendant who was traveling directly behind him on West Napoleon Avenue. The plaintiff alleges the defendant should have stopped more promptly to have avoided a collision with the plaintiff.

The defendant is accused of negligence and failing to take the appropriate precautions.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by Christopher Gioe of Dudley, Debosier Injury Lawyers PC in New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division C Judge June Berry Darensburg.
