Former patient sues Ochsner Hospital for alleged breach in standard of care

GRETNA – A man is seeking damages, alleging that he was not given the proper treatment at a hospital.

Adam Every III filed a complaint on Dec. 27 in the 24th Judicial District Court against Dr. John Lockwood Ochsner Jr.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff is seeking damages for negligence and breach in the standard of care. The suit states that on Oct. 21, 2015, the plaintiff was at the Ochsner Hospital in Jefferson. The plaintiff was allegedly caused injuries by the defendant while he was receiving treatment. The plaintiff allegedly suffered pain and swelling and was not given the proper treatment such as physical therapy or rehab, and therefore was caused to not recover properly.

The defendant is accused of negligence and breach in the standard of care.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by himself.

The case has been assigned to Division F Judge Michael Mentz.

The 24th Judicial District Court Case No. is 790745.
