GRETNA – A woman is seeking damages, claiming she was injured when she fell over a water gasket.

Jacqueline Weinstein filed a complaint on Jan. 22 in the 24th Judicial District Court against Advance Waterproofing Co. Inc.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff is seeking damages for negligence and failure to prevent an injury from taking place. The suit states that on Aug. 13, 2018, the plaintiff was caused to trip and fall on a gasket that had been recently installed to keep water from a parking garage. After the fall, the plaintiff was caused injury due to the alleged negligence of the defendant.

The defendant is accused of negligence and failing to prevent an injury from taking place.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by Miles Trapolin of Trapolin Law Firm in New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division B Judge Cornelius Regan.
