University of New Orleans seeks over $2,000 from former student

GRETNA – A university is seeking over $2,000 from a former student.

The University of Louisiana System Board of Supervisors, through the University of New Orleans, filed a complaint on Jan. 22 in the 24th Judicial District Court against Ray Carl Hoffmann.

According to the complaint, Hoffman failed to pay off an open account balance of $2,000.54 plus interest for attendance during the Fall 2014 semester. The plaintiff alleges it has made amicable demand, but to no avail.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. It is represented by Amy Richard of the Louisiana Department of Justice in Baton Rouge.

The case has been assigned to Division J Judge Stephen Grefer.

The 24th Judicial District Court Case No. is 791438.
