Woman seeks damages following alleged trip and fall at a Motel 6

NEW ORLEANS – A woman is seeking damages for an alleged trip and fall at a hotel.

Lanita Brevard filed a complaint on Feb. 19 in Orleans Parish Civil District Court against Bayou Hospitality LLC, dba Motel 6.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff is seeking damages for alleged negligence and failure to prevent an incident from taking place. The suit claims the incident took place on May 11, 2018 when the plaintiff was at 4200 Old Gentilly Road. She claims she was caused to trip and fall on a defect that made the premises dangerous.

The defendant is accused of negligence and failure to prevent an incident from taking place.

The plaintiff seeks all reasonable damages, court costs, attorney fees and all appropriate relief. The plaintiff is represented by attorney David Bateman of the Bateman Law Firm in Baton Rouge.

The case has been assigned to Division L Judge Kern Reese.

The Orleans Parish Civil District Court Case No. is 2019-1824.
