Woman sues property owner after alleged fall

GRETNA – A woman is suing a property owner alleging that she was caused to fall due on defective stairs.

Myra Marrero, individually and on behalf of her minor children, and Tyrone Fields on behalf of his minor child filed a complaint on April 8 in the 24th Judicial District Court against KFK Oakwood LLC, PPE Properties LLC, KFK Group Inc., and Maxim Indemnity Company. According to the complaint, the plaintiff is seeking damages for an incident that took place on April 10, 2018 when the plaintiff was walking down some steps at her apartment. 

The plaintiff was caused to be injured when she fell due to defective conditions on the stairway. The defendant is accused of negligence.


The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by Pierce A. Hammond II of Hammond Law Firm LLC in New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division G Judge E. Adrian Adams.
