Woman sues Grand Vision LLC, Bankers Insurance Company after alleging injuries from a broken chair

GRETNA – A woman is suing a vision company, alleging that a chair she was sitting in broke and caused her to be injured.

Hope Evans filed a complaint against Grand Vision LLC and Bankers Insurance Company on March 18 in the 24th Judicial District Court. According to the lawsuit, the plaintiff is seeking damages for an incident that took place on March 20, 2018 when the plaintiff was a customer on the defendant's property. 

The suit states that the plaintiff was sitting in a wooden chair that broke and caused her to fall sideways onto the floor, resulting in injuries. The defendant is accused of negligence.


The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by Andrew Geiger and Allan Berger of Allan Berger & Associates PLC in New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division J Judge Stephen C. Grefer.
