Walmart is named in couple's slip and fall lawsuit

GRETNA – A couple is suing Walmart, alleging a woman was caused to slip and fall on a dangerous surface.

David and Jill Terese filed a complaint on April 22 in the 24th Judicial District Court against Walmart Stores and Walmart Louisiana LLC.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff is seeking damages for an incident that took place at the Walmart at 1501 Manhattan Blvd. in Harvey on May 31, 2018. The plaintiff, Jill Terese, alleges she was bending down to get a jar of mayonnaise when she was caused to slip and fall on a substance on the ground.

The defendant is accused of negligence.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by George Recile of Chehardy, Sherman, Williams, Murray, Recile, Stakelum & Hayes in Metairie.

The case has been assigned to Division H Judge Glenn Ansardi.
