NEW ORLEANS – A Louisiana couple has filed a lawsuit against Fiat Chrysler Automobiles claiming their 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee had numerous significant defects.
Gerald K. Daigle and Aimee Daigle filed their complaint in federal court against FCA US, also known as Chrysler, citing violations of the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act, breach of express warranties and/or contract and breach of implied warranties.
According to court documents, the Daigles purchased a 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee Summit Reserve 4XE from Chrysler. The complaint claims their vehicle had numerous defects and malfunctions, including issues with the console screen, forward collision, front steering and engine revving. The Daigles claim these defects substantially impaired the vehicle's use, value and safety.
The plaintiffs are seeking damages for economic and actual losses, including out-of-pocket expenses, loss of use, diminished market value and repair costs as well as incidental and consequential damages, civil penalties, punitive damages, interest, attorney fees, court costs and other relief.
The also are asking for rescission of the vehicle sale and a refund of the cost of sale plus any and all finance charges, insurance premiums, maintenance costs, repair costs and damages.
