A Mississippi man blames Shell USA and others for injuries he sustained while working on a rig in the Gulf of Mexico.

Jeremy Sessums filed his lawsuit in federal court against Shell USA Inc., Shell Gas Pipeline Company, Shell Offshore Inc., Danos LLC, Safety Management Systems LLC, Doye Sepulveda, and David Boudreaux. Sessums' three minor children also are named as plaintiffs in the case.

According to the complaint, Sessums was working for Helmerich & Payne, a contract drilling company, for Shell on January 10, 2023, when he says he suffered neck, back and head injuries that required surgery.

Sessums' claims are brought under the Outer Continental Shelf Lands Act and Louisiana Law.
