A U.S. Post Office employee, Eldridge J. Pollard, also known as Alfredo S., has filed a lawsuit against the United States Postal Service and its Postmaster General, Louis DeJoy. The case was lodged in the Eastern District of Louisiana court on January 24, 2024.

Pollard accuses the U.S. Post Office of discrimination and reprisal. He alleges that these violations occurred in Orleans Parish, located in the Eastern District of the United States District Courts of Louisiana.

Pollard was hired by USPS on July 4, 1998, after being medically discharged from the United States Army with over seven years of military service. He started as a Part-Time Flexible Distribution/Window Clerk with restrictions at a USPS post office station in New Orleans.

Within his first year, management noticed his leadership qualities and sent him for additional training to function as an acting supervisor. Over the next five years, he acted as a supervisor at various post offices throughout New Orleans.

The case continues to unfold as further details are yet to be revealed.
